Six words – not more, not less.
That’s what we’re asking for. It’s called a “six word memoir.” Think
of, “I came, I saw, I conquered.” Now – write your own!
How about, “Books made me who I am.”
Or, “Libraries are the heart of the community.”
Or, “Everything I learned came from books.”
Or,…………….
The Friends of Lawton Memorial Library is asking you to submit YOUR
six words that pertain to La Farge’s library, libraries in general,
and/or books.
Submit entries (as many as you like!) by November 30. Winners will be
announced and prizes awarded in early December. Many submissions will
be used in the library’s campaign to raise funds for a needed addition
to the library.
Submit your own six-word library memoir directly at the library, or
via email at: lafargepl@wrlsweb.org, or mail your entry to: Friends of
Lawton Memorial Library, 118 N. Bird St., La Farge, WI 54639.
The Friends look forward to your interpretation of “The six word
memoir.”
The Friends of Lawton Memorial Library is planning on an active year
of fund-raising for the addition. A special event is being planned for
February, library lovers’ month. The Friends will host an “Old World
Cuisine” event. This event will feature special foods from Europe,. It
will be heavy on the chocolate treats, since February is Valentine’s
month. More information will be forthcoming.
